Cornelia Kauhs
At the heart of Breath of Fire is Cornelia Kauhs, our founder and visionary. In 2004, Cornelia conceptualized the idea of creating yoga clothing designed with yogic values at its core. Her journey began in India, where she produced her first collection, but her search for ethical production soon led her to Portugal. There, she partnered with a small, family-run company to create garments from high-quality organic cotton dyed without chemicals. Cornelia’s dedication to sustainability, timeless design, and empowering women’s bodies is the foundation of Breath of Fire.
Maya Rochat
Maya Rochat, Cornelia’s daughter, is an accomplished visual artist and photographer. Her bold, imaginative work inspires the creative vision of the brand, ensuring that every piece embodies balance, beauty, and individuality. Maya’s artistic sensibility brings a unique depth to Breath of Fire, weaving art and functionality together seamlessly.

Pernelle Rochat
Pernelle Rochat, Maya’s sister and our CEO, is the heart and hands behind daily operations. She manages the creation and production of each garment, ensuring every detail reflects our family’s values. Pernelle also connects directly with our customers, bringing warmth and care to every interaction. Beyond her role at Breath of Fire, Pernelle regularly leads workshops on consciousness exploration, where she guides participants toward deeper self-awareness and personal growth. Her commitment to quality and her holistic approach to both business and well-being make her an essential part of what we do.
