Sohang yoga pants - Taupe-Breath of Fire-1

Our garments are elegant, durable, and timeless, designed to outlive trends and seasons. Each piece supports freedom of movement and enhances the natural beauty of the wearer.

Breath of Fire is a Swiss family brand, born from a deep love of yoga and conscious creation. Every piece is crafted with care and intention to help you wear your frequency — expressing authenticity, harmony, and inner strength.

wear your frequency

To wear your frequency is to embody your inner vibration. Our clothes are designed as companions on your journey — soft, natural, timeless — helping you radiate comfort, confidence, and consciousness. Every piece resonates with your essence and connects you to a better tomorrow.

Who makes our clothes?

95% of our garments are made in Portugal, near Porto, in small family-run workshops we have been working with for many years.
These ateliers are close to us — both geographically and humanly — and offer excellent working conditions, with deep craftsmanship and mutual trust.

The remaining 5% of our production takes place in Turkey, also in a family-owned workshop that operates ethically and holds recognized certifications.
This collaboration began during the Covid period, when organic cotton and bamboo fabrics were temporarily unavailable for our small Portugal Production.
Although we value this partnership, Portugal remains our first choice, where the proximity, care, and spirit of the atelier perfectly reflect our values.

Unlike most brands, we oversee every step of production — from fabric knitting and dyeing to cutting, sewing, and embroidery.
We never buy pre-made fabrics on the market. Each material is developed exclusively for Breath of Fire, ensuring consistency, softness, and long-lasting quality.

Our approach is rare today: a slow, transparent, and human way of creating — rooted in respect for the people, the planet, and the art of making things well.

How do we measure sustainability?

For us, sustainability is a holistic commitment that touches every aspect of our brand.

  • Natural & certified materials
Our clothes are made only from natural fibers, mainly certified organic cotton of the highest quality. All our fabrics are certified and dyed with processes so gentle they are safe even for babies’ skin.
  • Local & transparent production
We work primarily with trusted partners in Portugal, where the entire process — from yarn to finished garment — takes place on site. We personally visit the workshops to ensure full transparency, fair working conditions, and a human connection with those who bring our designs to life. A very small part of our production is also made in Turkey, with equally certified fabrics and ethical standards.
  • Evergreen & zero-waste approach
We focus on evergreen production instead of fast-changing seasonal collections. We use every meter of yarn that has been spun, and we only order what will actually be used and sold — avoiding both waste and overstock.
  • Protective packaging
Each garment is stored and shipped in an individual protective bag made from either recycled plastic or biodegradable materials — ensuring product quality while reducing impact.
  • Longevity over fast fashion
We design timeless pieces intended to last. By creating functional, durable garments instead of trend-based collections, we help reduce overconsumption and textile waste.
  • Small-scale, mindful production
As a family business, we grow without external capital, focusing on limited production runs to avoid overstock and waste. This slower rhythm ensures quality and respect for natural resources
  • Philosophy of care
Breath of Fire is born from yoga and nature — our vision is to offer clothing that nurtures both body and spirit, aligning beauty, comfort, and ecological responsibility.

In this way, sustainability for us is not just about materials or processes — it is a way of living, producing, and sharing in harmony with people and the planet.

What materials we use?

We believe it’s important to be transparent about the fabrics behind our garments. Textile production is always industrial — with machinery, energy, and human resources involved — but our goal is to make these processes as respectful and high-quality as possible.

That’s why we work almost exclusively with natural materials, blended only with a very small percentage of elastane when necessary to ensure durability and comfort. All our fabrics are certified by independent bodies for both environmental and ethical standards.

Here are the main fabrics we use:

  • Brushed Organic Cotton Jersey (220 g/m², made in Portugal)
Our flagship fabric, used in the Evergreen Collection. Made of 92% organic cotton and 8% elastane, it has a peach-skin touch, warmth, and long-lasting softness. Brushed during production, it stays smooth wash after wash. This premium fabric requires great care to dye and finish but delivers exceptional quality.
  • Bamboo blended with Organic Cotton (made in Turkey)
Selected for the Evolve Collection. Bamboo requires little water to grow and is sourced from responsibly managed forests. Through a controlled viscose process, it offers softness, fluidity, and durability. Blended with organic cotton, it creates breathable and comfortable garments designed to last. The Mizar Kimono is made entirely from bamboo.
  • Mercerized Organic Cotton Jersey (180 g/m², made in Portugal)
A premium organic cotton treated for strength, softness, and a refined silky sheen. Mercerization enhances color absorption, reduces shrinkage, and creates a polished, long-lasting fabric that remains breathable and skin-friendly.

Across all collections, we use every meter of yarn produced and only order what will be used and sold, avoiding waste and overproduction. Most of our fabrics are made in Portugal, with a very small part of our production in Turkey, where we collaborate with family-owned partners who share our values.

For us, sustainability is not just in the choice of fibers but in the traceability, certifications, and longevity of the fabrics we bring to you.

Why and who designs our timeless pieces?

Our collections are designed by my mother, Cornelia Kauhs, founder of Breath of Fire and a lifelong yogini devoted to creating beauty with purpose.
She inherited her love for sewing and precision from my grandmother Johanna, whose passion for handmade work and natural fabrics shaped our family’s creative path.

As her daughter, I carry this heritage forward — weaving together their know-how, values, and sense of harmony.
At Breath of Fire, we don’t chase trends; we create timeless pieces that feel soft, grounded, and alive.
We design them this way because we are timeless: rooted in care, guided by nature, and inspired by the simple grace of well-made things.
